Artist Update: Girlicious Perform “Like Me” At 2008 MMVA’s

I’ve been feeling “Like Me” since the moment I heard it. Both it and “Stupid Shit” are great songs, but I’m dying to hear them do a mid-tempo or a ballad. So, basically, the wait for the album is killing me.

Girlicious performed at the 2008 Much Music Video Awards in Canada this past weekend and the performance was, just, alright. Very little of the singing was actually live, but the dancing was good, and the girls looked great.  

There is even a surprise toward the end of the song. I think you’ll all enjoy it.

Artist Update: Kerli’s Debut Album Approaches

I have just been informed that Kerli’s debut album, “Love Is Dead“, has been pushed up to a release date of July 8th.

That subtracts about one month from our time spent waiting to finally get our hands on a copy of the record that is sure to put Kerli on the map.

Ashanti’s fourth studio album, The Declaration, proved not to be a contender in the battle for album of the year, or month, but her Wal-Mart Soundcheck reminds us, that while she may not have released the best album she could, Ashanti is still a strong performer.

Artist Update: Vanessa Hudgens’ Identified = Sophisticated Funk?

As July 1st approaches, Vanessa Hudgens‘ sophomore album, Identified, is almost ready to be released to her fans that are anxiously waiting to hear some new material from her. Her debut album, V, dropped in the late summer of 2006, spawning two singles, with one of them, “Say OK”, making it to the #64 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. With Identified, Vanessa claims to be bringing a more mature, “sophisticated,” album that will be “funky” as well as “fun.”
